Westchester County Jail is located in Valhalla, New York. There are approximately 3500 counties in the United States, usually each with its own county jail. Every county jail has its own set of rules, and Westchester County Jail is no different. For instance, many jails do not allow families and friends of inmates to send packages to the jail, however, Westchester County Jail does allow it, provided you abide by a strict set of rules, including not sending contraband. (If you do, you will be prosecuted.)

We have interviewed former Westchester County Jail inmates, however, so you can get a glimpse into what jail life really is like. This can help you know what to expect before you go to jail. It's best to be as prepared as possible so you can understand and cope with the changes once you're inside. If you have a friend or loved one inside jail, you can better understand what they might be going through while they're incarcerated.
